Today, I’d like to show you some views of my alma mater, the National Fisheries University.
It’s a small university in Yoshimi, Shimonoseki City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, with only about 800 students.
It’s in a really rural area—there’s nothing around except the sea—but that’s actually one of the things I loved about the university.

The building in the foreground is the boat house.
It stores small boats and cutters.

The white building in the upper right background is a facility of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force’s Shimonoseki Base.

The building with “National Fisheries University” written in large letters is the lecture hall.
Most of the classes are held in this building.
It is a relatively new building.

In the back, there is a large sports ground.
It is rarely used except for club activities.

These are the tennis courts.
I never used them even once.

This is the building with the cafeteria and the school store.

This is the library.
It was also a beautiful building.

This is the building for students in the Department of Biological Production.
It has laboratories and research rooms.

This is the building with the school infirmary.
It is the newest and nicest building on campus.

This is the main gate of the school.

The sea is right in front of the school.
The view is really beautiful.

By the way, students who are in the course aiming to become sailors do long-distance swimming in this sea.

This is the road in front of the school.

I took some photos of Yoshimi Town.
It was truly a peaceful rural town.
