Visiting the Aegis Destroyer Kongo at Shimonoseki Port

Trip

I lived in Shimonoseki when I was a university student.
Today, I am posting a photo of the Aegis destroyer Kongo that I took at Shimonoseki Port in the Kanmon Strait.

This is a view of Shimonoseki Port.
Shimonoseki has a narrow strait called the Kanmon Strait, which is a busy route for many ships.
Because of this, you can see ships passing very close to the port.

So big! Really cool!
I guess all boys love warships.

This ship seems to have been in service even before I was born.
It’s really old, isn’t it? Can you imagine that?

It seems that the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force often holds free tours like this.
If you like warships, you should definitely check it out!
